Enefit opens Estonia’s first weatherproof electric car charging hub in Tartu
On 12 December, Enefit will open Estonia’s first covered electric car charging hub in the Tartu Green Park development. The new solution offers a convenient, safe and weatherproof charging experience for both local residents and city visitors. It is the largest and most modern public charging area in Southern Estonia.

‘Our goal is to make charging electric cars as natural as refuelling. The Green Park charging hub combines Scandinavian architecture with practical functionality – it is well lit, weatherproof and accessible at all times. This solution is the first of its kind in both the Enefit charging network and in Estonia as a whole,’ says Kelli Toss-Kaasik, Chair of the Management Board of Enefit.
According to Toss-Kaasik, the new infrastructure is an important step in making electric car charging more widely available.
The Manager of Green Park Raul Jeets emphasises the impact of the partnership on the entire region: ‘In co-operation with Enefit, we have established a charging area that is more than just a technical facility – it is part of a functional and user-friendly urban environment. Working with Enefit improves the quality of infrastructure in the region and supports our vision of Green Park as a modern and sustainable business and service environment.’
The Green Park hub features seven chargers and 14 charging points, including two fast chargers, which allow several vehicles to be charged at the same time. Previously intended only for tenants of the office buildings, the chargers will be open to all electric car users from spring 2025. Along with the renovated area, an information board will be unveiled, sharing the story of how the Enefit charging network was developed.
The charging network in Southern Estonia is set to expand even further. In the near future, Enefit will install three new fast chargers in front of the Gardest Home and Garden Centre. Together with the Green Park charging hub, they will form one of the largest charging hubs in the region.
From 5 to 25 December, a campaign will run at Green Park chargers, with €50 Gardest Home and Garden Centre gift cards raffled among all charger users. You can find out more about how to participate in the campaign and read the terms and conditions here.
