While the end of August typically brings the first signs of autumn to the energy markets, this past August still showed no indication that summer was coming to an end. Solar generation continued to account for a significant share of the energy consumed across the Baltics, while wind availability and import conditions primarily shaped prices during evening hours.

As of 1 September, Kristi Purtsak took up the position of Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the Eesti Energia Group. Under Purtsak’s leadership, a new Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department has been established, bringing together the previously separate fields of legal affairs and government and partner relations.

Leading energy companies in the Baltic Sea region will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Warsaw on 2 September, aimed at deepening regional cooperation and developing joint projects that support energy security, resilience and competitiveness in the Baltic Sea region.
