Enefit Volt’s customers travelled a record 9.5 million emission-free kilometres in 2022

The customers of Enefit Volt, Estonia's largest electric car charging network, travelled a total of more than 9.5 million emission-free kilometres on Estonian roads last year, saving nearly 1,172 tons of carbon emissions. This is 2.5 times more than in 2020 and 1.5 times more than in 2021.

Kert Pääbo , Business Development Manager at Enefit Volt, is happy to see that Estonians' interest in electric cars continues to be strong and that we are moving towards a greener future together with Europe and the rest of the world.

"The interest in electric cars is constantly growing and we are very close to the point where the costs of owning an internal combustion engine car and an electric car equalize and a real breakthrough in clean transport begins. Improvement in the availability of vehicles, expansion of the model range, as well as general increase in consumer confidence add to this," Pääbo said.

In order to achieve an even better result in the coming years, Pääbo finds that the expansion of the electric car charging network must be continued and its reliability must be increased.

"A high-speed charging network that covers the whole of Estonia and is suitable for all electric cars is of critical importance for a breakthrough in clean transport, because it gives assurance to those driving electric vehicles. Access to a fast charger must always be within reach. The development of electric cars and its ecosystem has been very clearly felt as of 2022 - the number of public charging points in Estonia reached 400 last year, and the interest of companies in the sector and in the provision of charging services has grown significantly," Pääbo said.

Enefit Volt works on a daily basis in order to offer people an ever wider opportunity to make their necessary car journeys without harming the environment.

"Enefit Volt chargers make up nearly half of all public charging points currently available in Estonia. In 2023, we will start with the renewal and expansion of charging points on a larger scale to contribute to the growth in the use of electric cars and to a convenient charging experience," Pääbo added.

Enefit VOLT is the largest electric car charging network in Estonia. Our charging network based 100% on green electricity is constantly evolving, providing ultra-fast and fast charging for electric cars with CCS, CHAdeMO and the universal Type2 charging standard.
