You can join Eesti Energia's universal service also at Omniva’s post offices

From 3 October, you can submit an application to join or opt out of the universal electricity service at Omniva’s post offices. Only customers of Eesti Energia can perform operations at the service points.

Eesti Energia’s household customers for whom the universal electricity service will be cheaper than their existing package will be automatically transferred to the service. Private individuals also have the opportunity to go to an Omniva post office to submit a request for signing, checking or cancelling their universal service contract with Eesti Energia.

According to Dajana Tiitsaar , Eesti Energia's Estonian Market Manager, customers have a lot of questions at the moment. “We understand the concern and will do our best to support people as much as possible during this difficult and stressful time. We are glad that we can now utilize Omniva's all-Estonian service network to help our customers. We are doing everything we can to make the information widely available,” Tiitsaar adds.

“Anything related to electricity affects every person in Estonia. Most people can perform universal service operations on their own, but there are still those people who do not have a possibility for a digital connection and who need help. Since Omniva’s post offices are located all over Estonia and we have long-term experience in providing services, we reorganized our work. Our post office attendants are ready to help anyone who applies to join Eesti Energia's universal service or seeks related information,” said Kristi Unt , Member of the Management Board of Omniva.

Post office attendants can perform the following actions related to the universal service:

  • Give you advice and information about the universal service;
  • Check whether your electricity contract with Eesti Energia will be automatically transferred to universal service;
  • Accept requests to transfer or subscribe to Eesti Energia's universal service;
  • Accept requests to stop the automatic transition to Eesti Energia’s universal service.

Post offices enable private persons to perform actions related to the universal service. Representatives of apartment associations must directly contact Eesti Energia's customer service. Omniva’s attendants identify persons through an information system. Therefore, you must bring an ID card or other identification document.

Actions related to universal electricity service can be carried out in post offices until the end of the year.
